Think & Built Bigger Faster Better

By offering Latino middle and high school kids instruction in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and other cutting-edge technologies, TecnoLatinx, a Los Angeles-based non-profit, is assisting in closing the digital divide for this group of students.

According to Martha Mendizabal, who left a lucrative Wall Street career in New York to co-found TecnoLatinx, “there will be a lot of artists and young people that can make a big difference in contributing to how the industry develops, and bringing our own unique and authentic points of views.”

What are the things that I would need to grow and elevate myself if I were a young person right now? asked Bauta.

Additionally, TecnoLatinx collaborates with groups in the neighborhood that support education and the arts, such the East Los Angeles art collective Self Help Graphics.

Former TecnoLatinx member and recent high school graduate Steve Vazquez currently works for the company as a teacher.

Vazquez remarked, “I haven’t seen any other programs that will loan you this kind of technology.” “You have to go out and buy it, which for some people is not an option.”
