Survey: Adoption of digital transformation technology gains momentum
Adoption of digital transformation technologies is gaining momentum, according to a survey of UK leaders by bluQube.
Nearly three-quarters (72%) of business leaders say their organizations are implementing mobile technology. The same percentage said they use the cloud for their operations. As an established technology, this is not surprising.

IoT – adopted by nearly half of companies (48%) – lags behind mobile and cloud. Further down the list, but still notable for adoption, is AI and machine learning. Nearly a third (30%) of leaders said they use these technologies.

Augmented reality has also seen impressive adoption, with more than a fifth (21%) now using it for their operations.

Emerging technologies that are growing but not yet widely adopted include: digital twins (18.7%), robotics (12.7%) and interoperable systems (12.7%).

“Adoption still has a long way to go in some areas, as too many companies ignore the potential transformational benefits of overlooked technologies such as those that offer interoperability, which will greatly simplify day-to-day operations and transform how businesses operate,” added Kearsley. The report states that 78 percent of businesses identified these digital transformation technologies as supporting growth in their organization, indicating that there is an appetite for continued investment.

76 percent of leaders say the acceleration of remote work caused by the pandemic has accelerated their organizational plans to implement digital technologies.

With skyrocketing fuel costs further increasing the appetite for telecommuting, many companies are determined to maintain the improvements they’ve made in this pandemic area. 36 percent of business leaders believe they need to implement more technology to support the sustainability of hybrid or remote work models
