In order to interact with suppliers, the U.S. Army will host an industry day on August 24 as the service branch wants to include augmented and virtual reality technologies into its Family of Maintenance Trainers.

The Army stated its Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation will oversee the occasion with the aim of locating possible vendors that could upgrade the FMT product line used to teach military vehicle maintainers in a notice posted on SAM.gov on Tuesday.

A government-owned architecture, a standard for both hardware and software, was used in the creation of the suite.

The product line consists of applications for diagnostic troubleshooting, partial tasks, and hands-on instruction, according to the notification.

A multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract vehicle for support services required to update the trainers is apparently being developed by an Army product director.

The third quarter of the government’s 2025 fiscal year is the anticipated award date, according to the service department.
