Think & Built Bigger Faster Better

A new program using virtual reality (VR) is assisting in providing immersive, pertinent training that is suited for the business.

Employers and job seekers can practice real-life scenarios to help them succeed together in a more inclusive workplace with the help of NorQuest College’s VR Soft Skills training, which was developed in collaboration with ELIXR Simulations and developer partner, Red Iron Labs, and funded by the Government of Alberta under the Workforce Strategies grant program.

“With Workforce Strategies grants, the government of Alberta is investing over a number of years in education and job training to equip Albertans with the skills they need for both the labor market of today and our nation’s future.

According to Gail Kesslar, Applied Research Business Development Officer at NorQuest College, “job seekers who can approach the interview process with confidence and an improved ability to communicate will improve their chances of obtaining employment.” “The training we are giving employers will help to remove any uncertainties they may have about hiring from these groups,” the organization claims.

“At ELIXR, we believe in the power of virtual and augmented reality to change the way we work, live, and play, and this partnership with NorQuest College is the perfect demonstration of how a virtual reality solution can create new pathways to successful and inclusive work environments,” says Brett Ludwig, Chief Technology Officer with ELIXR Simulations. We aspire to develop many more VR and AR solutions that benefit residents of our province and their companies through collaborations like this one.
