In order to enhance members’ viewing experiences across 24 Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries, sports and entertainment broadcaster beIN Media Group expanded its relationship with video software vendor Synamedia.
For its numerous platforms, including beIN TV, beIN TV VIP hybrid DTH, and IP 4K Kaon set-top boxes, beIN chose Synamedia to modernize the user interface (UI) and improve the user experience (UX) in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The new experience is safeguarded by Synamedia’s security services and solutions and is powered by Synamedia’s Infinite cloud TV. A new headend was also delivered by Synamedia as part of the project. Sports enthusiasts may now watch two live games on one screen thanks to one of the new features.”With all eyes on beIN as the official broadcaster of the World Cup in Qatar, we needed a technology partner who could deliver a future-proofed platform with stand-out features to enthrall viewers during the tournament and then evolve with more innovation over the long term,” said Saleem Shah, STB technology manager MENA at beIN. Our trusted partner Synamedia outperformed the competition and provided the wow factor we were looking for in a condensed amount of time and under our allocated budget. Importantly, we now have the foundation to introduce a number of other innovative, ground-breaking features in the upcoming months.
“beIN continues to anticipate market needs and transform its services to cement its position as a leading global sports and entertainment provider in the area,” said Lucy Norris, EVP broadcast technology and chief customer success officer at Synamedia. Since we and beIN have been technological partners for almost ten years, we are eager to innovate with them to provide the finest watching experiences, safeguard profits, and create new revenue sources.
