The Prime Minister addressed the group of local and foreign attendees, saying, “We all need to work together to confront these concerns. We must examine potential repercussions across several industries. Every incident of disruption increases in profundity, scope, and importance.

The Department of Telecommunications’ usage of the facial recognition system ASTR is a good example. It is crucial to comprehend how the nation’s leader views and approaches this industry given that such government-enabled AIs handle citizen data like face information without user consent.

The passage of the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2023 (now an Act) may allow AI services to scrape publicly available personal data, making this issue even more crucial. This extensive access granted to AI by India’s first data privacy law may be revised and limited by a worldwide framework.

A worldwide framework for cryptocurrencies: In addition to AI, Modi discussed a cooperative effort to address problems brought on by cryptocurrencies and cybersecurity. He specifically stated, “It requires a highly integrated approach,” in reference to the latter.
