The largest free upgrade for the best-selling and award-winning virtual reality (VR) stealth experience to date, Espire 1: Convergence, was just released, according to publisher Tripwire Presents and developer Digital Lode. Along with new PC capabilities, the Convergence Update adds all of the content from the Espire 1: VR Operative 1.7, 1.8, and 1.9 releases to the Steam and Rift platforms. With the exception of a few challenges that will continue to be unique to Quest, this includes a range of new challenges, weapons, and quality-of-life enhancements that were previously only accessible on Meta Quest platforms. Based on direct feedback from the Espire community, the team at Digital Lode keeps putting out fresh content and improvements.
Included in the Espire 1: Convergence Update are:
New challenges:
Furcata: Challenge of Hostage Rescue
Mangua: Takedown challenge
Crassipes: Sneaking challenge
Cicurina: Hostage Rescue challenge
Horcotes: Elimination challenge
New environment:
Espire Agents are tasked with infiltrating Ophis’ headquarters in this new scenario, which is set in the remote subterranean mining town of the same name in South Australia and features a hotel, chapel, and a network of caves connected by twisted tunnels below.
Modern weaponry:
Both the Sawn-off Shotgun and the Spectre Silenced SMG are now playable in the campaign.
Both of these weapons will be available for use in the campaign if players accomplish all of the SMG and Sawn-off shotgun weapon challenges.
Biggest UI changes:
Redesign of the main menu: A new “Latest News” UI panel has been added to the main menu to showcase new content for players.

Additional bug fixes and quality enhancements.

Espire 1: In addition to Steam, Meta Quest (Quest, Quest 2, and Quest 3), Oculus Rift, Oculus Rift-S, HTC Vive / Vive Pro, Valve Index, Windows Mixed Reality, and PlayStation®VR, VR Operative is available for all major VR platforms for $19.99 USD.
