Microsoft CEO: Open AI turmoil is not about AI safety

The president of Microsoft has stated that there was no argument over safety as the cause of the current instability at the artificial intelligence (AI) startup OpenAI.

There were concerns that the “dangerous” revelation made at the ChatGPT creator led to the dismissal of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

Brad Smith clarified to the BBC that the unexpected termination “wasn’t fundamentally about a concern like that.”
