A senior official in the office of the Deputy Mayor of London for Business stated that several Gurugram-based technology businesses are eager to open offices in London, adding that the reasons for this range from the availability of venture capital funding to global demand and talent.

According to a report by the news agency PTI, the Mayor of London oversees the trade and economic growth organization known as London and Partners that serves the UK city.

Hemin Bharucha, senior leadership team member and country director for India for London and Partners, recognized that funding for startups is less accessible now than it once was in a speech on the margins of the B20 Summit.

He claimed that his company only works with MSMEs because large corporations either already have a presence in London or can afford a large consulting agency.

In the areas of electric vehicles, sustainability, and technology, we see Gurugram truly advancing. These are really large industries, and we are starting to see some unique businesses in AR and VR. They and we both have issues with it, Bharucha told PTI.

Due to the similarity of the tax and legal systems as well as the business language, most MSMEs establish their first foreign office in London, unless they have significant ties to the United States.

Companies start out with five to ten employees, but quickly grow to 100, 200, or 300 because revenue comes from two main sources: global VC financing and the company’s top customer.

Because of flat output in the final few months of 2022, as indicated by numbers from February, the UK narrowly avoided going into recession last year. The UK government has issued a warning that the economy was still in trouble this year.
