Hyderabad International Airport Debuts India's First IoT-Powered Smart Trolleys

December 18, 2023

Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RIGA) has introduced India’s first smart baggage carts, making travel easier and smarter for everyone.

Consider this: a fantastic film depicting a traveler’s journey from Hyderabad to Goa, made possible by these new smart carts. They are not ordinary trolleys; they scan your boarding pass, keep you up to date on your trip, and guide you directly to your gate.

Anand Mahindra, chairman of the Mahindra & Mahindra group, was delighted by the movie. He posted about it on social media, wondering if these were the first of their sort in the world.

RIGA answered enthusiastically, expressing their delight at being the first to introduce these excellent trolleys and creating a precedent for everyone.

Let us discover the secret behind these clever trolleys. RIGA already has almost 3,000 trolleys with fancy long-range radio technology (LoRa). That means they can track the trolleys in real time, reducing the amount of time spent waiting.

But there’s more to it than that. RIGA is not content with smart trolleys. They also feature a super-smart control center, speedy E-Boarding, quick Express Check-in, and even AI-driven technologies to ensure you can move about the airport without any problems.

In summary, Hyderabad’s airport is no longer merely a destination to catch a flight; it has evolved into a global technology hub. Travel at RIGA is getting a high-tech makeover, with these smart carts leading the way, offering a more entertaining and efficient experience for all of us.
