New Lion Safari Park Construction Plans:

In addition to the app, plans are underway for a new lion safari park near Naliya-Mandvi village in the Una taluka of the Gir-Somnath district. This initiative aims to alleviate the strain on the Gir National Park in Sasan-Gir, which has been facing increased tourist numbers. The intended result is a positive impact on both the region’s ecology and its magnificent lion inhabitants.

The “Lion Anthem” and its books are revealed:

The unveiling of a “Lion Anthem” and the publication of two books honoring Gujarat’s natural heritage served as additional markers for the occasion. These publications, “The King of the Jungle – The Asiatic Lions of Gir” and “Hu Gujarat no Sinh,” honor the state’s abundant biodiversity.

On World Lion Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed his support, highlighting the importance of lion conservation efforts and India’s pride in being the home of Asiatic Lions.

Project Lion and the Lion Population in Gujarat:

Gujarat today has 674 lions living there, covering an area of 30,000 square kilometers. In the previous year, Gir welcomed about 800,000 visitors. The Central Government’s commitment to lion preservation is demonstrated by “Project Lion,” which has a budget of Rs 2,900 crore, according to CM Patel. This large-scale undertaking includes the construction of a breeding facility, an isolation facility, and improved lion medical care. The use of cutting-edge technical instruments will support monitoring and conservation activities, including as CCTV cameras, radio collars, and drones.
