- For wide-spectrum image sensing and vision systems, the 2DNEURALVISION project will conduct cutting-edge research in the field of 2DM (two-dimensional materials). Its scientific breakthroughs are expected to have a significant impact on society by accelerating disruptive innovations in the automotive, AR/VR, service robotics, and mobile device industries.
- 2DNEURALVISION, a Horizon Europe project, got underway in Castelldefels, Barcelona, on October 9 and 10. The initiative, which has 5.5 million euros from the European Commission, aims to explore the next generation of computer vision and to create electronic and photonic integrated circuit components that will enable a new low-power computer vision system that can be operated in low light and bad weather.
- Under the direction of ICFO (ES), the project consortium consists of seven partners from four different countries in Europe. QURV Technologies (ES), BLACK – Black Semiconductor GMBH (DE), UHEI – Heidelberg University (DE), IMEC (BE), Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft (DE), and FI Group (PT) are also involved.
- The project’s kick-off meeting took place on October 9 and 10, with hosting organisation ICFO in Barcelona. All partners made initial contact as a result of the event, sharing their technical expertise and outlining their anticipated contributions to the project. After a tour of the lab, the meeting concluded with preparations for the next tasks and deliverables.
