Think & Built Bigger Faster Better

For many individuals, emoji have replaced words in communication, however Samsung’s emoji have drawn criticism for their appearance. The most recent upgrade, One UI 6, makes an effort to enhance Samsung’s emoji design language, but it seems to have fallen short.

The look of Samsung’s emoji has long been viewed as a shoddy replica of the iOS emoji from Apple. Even if the most recent version does include some modifications, including softer colors, the overall aesthetic still feels unfinished. For instance, compared to Apple and Google’s versions, the popular “Face with Tears of Joy” emoji in One UI 6 has smaller tears and the proportions of the eyes and tears seem odd.

The “Face Savoring Delicious Food” emoji is another that has drawn criticism. The design was competitive with Apple and Google in One UI 5, but it looks weird in One UI 6.

One UI’s “Grimacing Face” emoji has also caused controversy because many people think the tone is inappropriate. Although One UI 6 makes an effort to fix this, the tone still feels off.

The Thumbs Up emoji has been improved to be more in line with Apple and Google’s versions, for example, but the overall adjustments in One UI 6 don’t seem to have addressed the underlying design concerns.
It’s important to note that there has been an effort to reinstate the former emoji style known as “blobs.” It is unknown if Samsung would take this option into account in next releases.

In other news, thanks to Apple’s integration, Android users may now find and follow Apple’s AirTags. In addition, fresh rumors concerning Google’s impending Pixel 8 series provide information on casing colors and storage capacities. Additionally recently released are Samsung’s new gadgets, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, and Watch 6.
