New Delhi / India — February 11, 2026: Startups based in the Delhi‑National Capital Region (NCR) raised an estimated USD 2.9 billion in funding during 2025, marking a 9 per cent rise over the previous year and underscoring the region’s enduring role as one of India’s top tech ecosystems.
Funding Landscape and Trends
The total capital raised in the Delhi‑NCR startup ecosystem climbed from about USD 2.7 billion in 2024 to USD 2.9 billion in 2025, as late‑stage investments surged significantly, even while the overall deal count declined from around 630 rounds to about 415.
This pattern suggests investor focus shifting toward larger, high‑conviction rounds rather than a broad spread of smaller early‑stage deals.
Sector Highlights
-
Auto tech emerged as a standout sector, attracting about USD 1.4 billion in funding — a 456 per cent increase year‑on‑year, led by major rounds like Erisha E Mobility’s USD 1 billion Series D.
-
Retail and enterprise applications were other key contributors, raising roughly USD 651 million and USD 430 million, respectively.
Ecosystem Maturity and Activity
While seed‑stage funding in the region declined — falling to around USD 260 million — and early‑stage rounds dipped to approximately USD 839 million, the rise of late‑stage capital to about USD 1.8 billion reflects growing confidence in established startups and greater funding concentration on scaling ventures.
In addition to venture capital raises, IPO activity accelerated, with 19 Delhi‑NCR tech companies going public in 2025 — a 36 per cent jump in listing activity — and 27 strategic acquisitions completed, up 17 per cent from the prior year.
What This Means for the Region
The funding performance highlights Delhi‑NCR’s ability to attract major capital even in a cautious overall market, with strength in late‑stage deals, sector specialization (like auto tech) and growing public market participation. However, the drop in deal volume also indicates tighter investor selectivity, emphasizing quality over quantity in 2025.
Overall, the region’s 2025 funding story shows maturation and evolving investor focus — from broad early‑stage backing to larger strategic bets and exit pathways that collectively reinforce Delhi‑NCR’s position as a leading startup hub in India.
