Cybersecurity Faculty Development Programme Begins at NFSU
A five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics” has commenced at the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Guwahati Campus, bringing together educators, professionals, and experts to deepen skills in critical areas of digital security and cyber investigations.
The programme, running from February 9 to February 13, 2026, is sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Phase III initiative — highlighting the government’s focus on strengthening India’s cyber capabilities.
Over the course of the week, participants will engage with eminent speakers and subject experts from leading academic and research institutions, including IIT Guwahati, IIIT Guwahati, NFSU’s other campuses, and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Guwahati. These sessions are designed to blend theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience, covering evolving trends and advanced topics in cybersecurity and digital forensics.
Key areas of focus include Artificial Intelligence in cybersecurity, malware analysis, operating system security, and other specialised domains that address modern digital threats. The FDP aims to equip faculty members, cybersecurity professionals, police personnel, and forensic scientists with advanced technical skills and best practices for effectively tackling complex cybercrime challenges.
Through this initiative, NFSU Guwahati seeks to contribute to national efforts in capacity building, awareness generation, and skill development in cybersecurity — an area of increasing strategic importance as digital systems expand across public and private sectors.
