Amaravati unveils Quantum Valley Project to boost quantum innovation – Pentoz Technology

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has officially launched the Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV) project, marking a major step toward establishing the state capital as a global centre for quantum technology research and innovation. The foundation stone-laying ceremony in Amaravati drew top dignitaries, including Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and national science officials, highlighting the initiative’s strategic importance for India’s deep-tech ecosystem.

Designed to foster cutting-edge research, development, and commercialisation in quantum computing, communications, sensing, and related fields, Quantum Valley will host world-class facilities and partnerships with leading technology firms. The project is part of Andhra Pradesh’s broader vision to transform its capital into a next-generation innovation hub that supports startups, multinational R&D, and advanced technology deployment.

Industry leaders such as IBM and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) are expected to play significant roles. Plans include deploying one of India’s most powerful quantum computers — the IBM Quantum System Two with a multi-qubit processor — within AQV’s dedicated tech park, alongside co-innovation spaces for developers, researchers, and students.

Beyond infrastructure, the initiative emphasises skill development and talent cultivation. Government and industry partners are rolling out education and training programmes to prepare a quantum-ready workforce, reflecting a long-term push to make the region a magnet for technology talent in fields where India is aiming for global competitiveness.
