New Delhi, India — Indian Railways is phasing out the long‑standing UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) mobile app and replacing it with a new unified digital RailOne app, marking a major shift in how passengers will access railway services on mobile devices. The transition is part of an effort to simplify ticketing, integrate services and modernise the railways’ digital ecosystem.
📱 What’s Changing: UTS App Retirement
-
Starting March 1, 2026, the UTS mobile app will be discontinued as Indian Railways makes the RailOne app the exclusive platform for unreserved ticket booking and other passenger services.
-
Earlier phases of the transition already saw season ticket (pass) bookings and renewals removed from the old UTS app as part of the migration process.
-
After the switchover, unreserved tickets, day passes, and other features formerly on UTS will be accessible only through RailOne.
🚆 Introducing the RailOne App
The RailOne app is designed as a one‑stop digital solution that consolidates multiple Indian Railways services in a single platform. Key features include:
-
Unreserved and reserved ticket booking (with the latter integrated via IRCTC systems)
-
Live train tracking and PNR status
-
Digital wallet payments, complaint/feedback support, and customer service
-
3% discount on unreserved tickets booked through the app (valid for a limited period to encourage adoption)
RailOne aims to eliminate the need for multiple standalone apps — such as UTS, Rail Madad, and separate ticketing or enquiry tools — by bringing them together under a unified user experience.
📲 What Passengers Need to Do
-
Download and register or log in to the RailOne app on Android or iOS ahead of the March 2026 transition.
-
Former UTS users can generally use their existing credentials to sign in, and any wallet balances from the UTS app will carry over.
-
Season passes and related tickets may need transfer or re‑assignment within the RailOne system, so passengers are urged to complete any required steps before the old app fully shuts down.
📌 Why the Change Matters
Consolidating digital services into a single app reflects Indian Railways’ broader strategy to embrace digital adoption and customer convenience. The new platform is expected to reduce confusion caused by multiple apps, streamline ticketing functions, and introduce modern features that make mobile travel planning easier for millions of commuters and long‑distance travellers alike.
