Anthropic Korea office launch
Anthropic establishes new office in Korea

Anthropic’s decision comes as South Korea emerges as a key market for its AI products, especially Claude Code, the company’s AI coding assistant. According to company executives, usage of Claude Code in South Korea has surged dramatically in recent months, growing sixfold over several months — a trend that places the country among the top global markets for Anthropic outside the United States.

In fact, three of the top five markets for Anthropic’s tools globally are in Asia — Korea, Japan and India — and roughly 25% of total usage of Claude Code comes from the region, highlighting strong enterprise and developer interest.

Goals of the Seoul Office

The Seoul office will focus on:

Anthropic’s CEO and leadership team have underscored Korea’s vibrant tech ecosystem and advanced AI adoption as key factors in the decision to establish a direct presence. By embedding a local team in Seoul, the company aims to deepen ties with world‑class partners and accelerate tailored solutions for industries ranging from telecommunications to legal services.

Part of a Broader Asia Strategy

The Seoul office will be Anthropic’s third in the Asia‑Pacific region, joining existing and planned offices in Tokyo and Bengaluru, India — part of a broader strategy to scale operations in key international markets. The company is also investing in hiring across global hubs to support rising enterprise demand.

Analysts see this move as reflecting not only Anthropic’s growing global footprint but also South Korea’s rising importance as an AI innovation center, with strong developer communities, advanced infrastructure and supportive national policies.
