Think & Built Bigger Faster Better

Unquestionably one of the biggest games of this year, both in terms of size and following, Starfield just recently launched. Its success can be attributed to Bethesda sticking to the formula and providing players with an engaging environment to explore that is rich in lore, as they have done with all of their previous titles.

This game was not the only one to debut with such fanfare this year. Other games have existed, and they have either been similarly creative or even more so. What are the prospects of Starfield earning a GOTY this year, ask the fans?
Can Starfield win GOTY in 2023 against other powerful launches?

It took roughly eight years to build; it has been claimed numerous times that Starfield was in the planning stages while Fallout 4 was getting ready to release. Since Bethesda made the announcement in 2018, the game has amassed a sizable following.

And now that the game has launched, many players think that Bethesda has still failed to provide everyone with a truly next-gen experience, despite the fact that it is a very fantastic game. It contains all the features that Bethesda’s earlier games offered, but there are a few of limits that are unsettling. a vast environment to explore, a ton of side quests, and other diversions.

All of this is matched with a respectable plot backed by a rich body of lore. Overall, Bethesda delivered exactly what their fans have come to expect from them over the years with this game. And for that reason, the question of whether or not this game will be named Game of the Year boils down to one minor point: Does it really matter if it lacks key next-gen features? Do uninterrupted planet exploration and smooth space transit matter in any way?

Fans would argue that a game doesn’t need flashy bells and whistles to be considered one of the best, and they may even be right. Because of this, there is a potential it will win a GOTY; in fact, it may be one of the strongest candidates this year.
What about the rivalry?

There are other games listed as possibilities for Game of the Year in addition to Starfield. The most well-known of them is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom from Nintendo. Despite being published on the Nintendo Switch, a far less powerful platform, the game gave players a wonderfully cool world to explore. Its features, including Ultrahand and others, completely astounded many internet developers. The game is a very strong rival to Starfield just based on its creative ideas.
