“Using generative AI in user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) projects appears to save time and effort by over 30% over previous methods. It is anticipated that generative AI will be used in the future to create functions or services that are better suited for each stage or field, which will significantly save time and effort.
Prior to the ‘Generative AI usage and case seminar in the practical process of UX/UI projects’ on the 19th, Algocare lead Kim Yu-jeong stated in an interview that, “I began to worry about how to introduce generative AI into the services provided by companies.”
She clarified that thanks to Yu-Jeong Kim’s leadership, she can now enlist Generating AI assistance for practically any stage of her UX/UI initiatives. Generative AI can, for instance, be used in phases like preliminary desk research, survey design (e.g., surveys or interviews), statistical data analysis, qualitative data summary, ideation of visual concepts, and prototyping.
She clarified that the activation of generative AI, which she oversees through Yu-Jeong Kim, is causing modifications in UX and UI initiatives. The first, according to her, is that you can get assistance with methodological expansion and efficiency when working on a project. Second, there are now worries about how to incorporate generative AI into the offered services.
“This concern has become more important because a good user experience cannot be designed by introducing related functions regardless of the context of the service,” stated Lead Kim Yu-jeong. “Generative AI can be used.” AlgoCare, a real healthcare firm, is also investigating customer expectations for the service and whether generative AI may further enhance and give value. The company is carrying out numerous tests across multiple domains.
Lead Kim Yu-jeong gave a presentation on her experiences obtaining AI assistance for various UX project phases. For instance, gathering and analyzing the outcomes of a design workshop used to take a lot of time; however, with the use of “Notion AI Summary,” same process now takes a fraction of the time.
Additionally, she discovered that using Chat GPT to create drafts of survey or interview questions was really helpful. All she had to do was describe the scenario. It used to be very difficult to come up with an icon notion for an abstract concept during the UI design stage, but according to lead Kim Yu-jeong’s experience, the concept was swiftly concreted using the design image obtained through Dalle-2.
“There were times when we were able to meet deadlines quickly with functions like AI compositing and image quality improvement,” he claimed when pressed for time. Based on these examples, it appears that the primary benefit of generative AI is its time-saving and non-burdensome nature. He Stated.
Lead Kim Yu-jeong went on, saying, “It can be said that it has become very easy to introduce specialized fields with low skills into UX projects.” She also mentioned how helpful AlgoCare’s linked teams are when studying data statistics or defining/analyzing indications.
When generative AI was added to the service, lead Yujeong Kim also went over the rules. He underlined how crucial it is to establish boundaries for the application of generative AI based on domain specifics. For instance, it is necessary to lower risks and guarantee safety in the domains of education and health because these are fields where errors or risks are not only rare but almost nonexistent.
“Generative AI is still being introduced into direct services, so there are many limitations and costs are high, so it seems to be used mainly to increase work productivity,” stated lead Kim Yu-jeong. “We expect that in the future, we will quickly find and attempt ways to provide value to users by introducing generative AI itself into services,” he continued. “So far, the focus has been on improving productivity.”
In the meantime, Lead Kim Yu-jeong will present several pointers and give examples of how generative AI was applied to boost output in the real-world UX and UI project phases at the seminar on the 19th at the Advertising Culture Center.
