Mahendra Nath Pandey, Union Minister of Heavy Industries, unveiled the landmark “Dugdh Sanakalan Sathi Mobile App” in Mussorie, Uttarakhand, on Friday.

Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited (REIL), a “Mini Ratna” Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, developed the app with the goal of bringing about a significant shift in the Indian dairy industry by tackling fundamental difficulties in the milk collection process.

“This mobile app aims to improve the quality of milk, foster transparency among stakeholders, and streamline operations at the grassroots village level, including milk cooperative societies,” according to the ministry of heavy industries.

Speaking at the event, Mahendra Nath Pandey stated, “Through this App, the Ministry of Heavy Industry has taken a revolutionary step towards realizing the government of India’s commitment to digitize the process and facilitate Direct Beneficiary Transfer to milk producers.”

The minister expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating that the ‘Dugdh Sankalan Sathi Mobile App’ will bring transparency, efficiency, and empowerment to all stakeholders involved in the milk collection process, ultimately benefiting milk producers and contributing to the dairy sector’s growth.

He emphasized that this application will be contextually active in the field in order to improve operations at the grassroots level across all relationships, including milk producers, milk co-operative societies, milk organizations, and state federations. The Milk Collection Partner Mobile App will tell milk producers about all services available in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu, and other languages.

This innovative effort illustrates the Indian government’s commitment to automating processes and simplifying direct beneficiary payments of government subsidies to milk producers.

According to the ministry, the app’s key features and benefits include increased transparency among stakeholders, online monitoring of milk collection at Milk Cooperative Societies, real-time milk price updates, direct beneficiary transfers of payments and government subsidies to milk producers’ bank accounts, push notifications for milk collection, and multilingual support.
