Frost & Sullivan awards Losant with the innovation leadership award
Frost & Sullivan presented Losant with the Innovation Leadership Award
The EEA will be introduced in late 2021 and brings Losant’s capabilities to previously incapable low-power embedded hardware.
“Unlike market leaders who use a full-code approach, Losant’s platform is low-code-based, making it more usable than other platforms that require in-house development. Losant’s full application programming interface (API) helps clients customize their IoT solutions and add more internal or integrate more internal or external services faster,” said Carina Gonçalves, Industry Director at Frost & Sullivan.
“The drag-and-drop workflow editor stands out in the market because it allows companies to create custom workflows and manage complex interactions between edge devices, networks, and the cloud itself, without programming tools.”
Losant’s IoT platform has both an EEA and a Gateway Edge Agent (GEA).
GEA requires more processing power – including 512MB of memory – but reveals more features. GEA is usually installed in an industrial gateway or a modern computer in a private network.
In contrast, EEA has minimal hardware requirements. EEA requires only 2MB of memory and is often integrated into embedded hardware deep within larger systems.
“Losant takes a unique approach to the market with a solution that is portable, usable, and adaptable. The platform can be deployed in public or private clouds or on-premise environments, while most players in the market have their platforms only to implement in the public cloud or in the native environment,” added Gonçalves. “Frost & Sullivan believes these unified, embedded, best-in-class field workflows with applications and cloud-based workflows are a first-to-market offering that will appeal to many customers who are in hybrid environments.”
