Virtual reality (VR) headset and technology provider DPVR recently announced its return from the Tokyo Game Show 2023 (TGS), where it shared some of its most recent VR innovations, including its E4 headset for PCVR gaming, its recently released P2 enterprise VR device, as well as a potential AR glasses-style device.
More than 240,000 people attended the TGS event, which brought together professionals and enthusiasts from Japan and around the world. DPVR was given what it called a “remarkable” platform to present its XR technology and forge new connections within the XR community.
While attendees at the show were experiencing the company’s VR solutions, DPVR offered immersive experiences of real-life scenarios at its booth, which was prominently located in the XR section of the event and featured five different household settings.
The E4 headset from DPVR, the company’s flagship product, supports SteamVR and provides users with a 4K display resolution, a 120-degree field of vision (FoV), and a lightweight design for prolonged play sessions. The E4 was a hit with guests, the company claims, drawing a crowd as people flocked to try out Beat Saber and VRChat on the gaming-focused VR gear. DPVR also mentioned that a number of game studios indicated an interest in working together.
TGS was also the first live event where DPVR displayed their just-launched P2 gadget. The P2 headset and Vivid Vision’s treatment program together “promise to continue positively impacting patients’ lives,” according to DPVR, which announced the partnership with its long-time partner and maker of virtual reality games for vision training.
DPVR also claimed that it debuted a “glasses-like wearable tech prototype” intended for “office scenarios” at the show, but the business gave no other details about the item. This might be the start of DPVR’s entry into the augmented reality (AR) sector.
According to Derek Liu, VP of DPVR, “The accomplishment of our presence at TGS would not have been possible without the invaluable support of our partners.” We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped us on this amazing trip, especially our local distributor, Aiuto Corporation, Lab Corporation, IT specialist Hikaru Northland, and VRChat celebrity Yoshii Hajime.
