Think & Built Bigger Faster Better

According to Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Intelligence, Manoj Abraham, the implications of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in policing in general and criminal investigation in particular are set to take center stage in the most recent edition of cOcOn, an annual International Cyber Security, Data Privacy And Hacking Conference to be hosted by the Kerala Police in the city of Kochi in Kerala in October.

The Society for the Policing of Cyberspace (POLCYB), a non-profit organization based in British Columbia, Canada, UNICEF, ICMEC, WeProtect, and a number of other organizations will collaborate with the Kerala Police to host the 16th edition of the conference at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bolghatty from October 4 to 7.

The seminar will examine the issues that Generative AI can present to law enforcement when employed by criminals. The effects of using technology in investigations, training, and other facets of policing will be examined, according to Mr. Abraham, who has been the international conference’s main proponent from the beginning.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was virtually held for two years before returning to its offline format in 2022. Approximately 1,300 delegates have signed up for the conference thus far, representing 32 nations. Additionally, there will be about 30 booths during the conference offering different technology solutions.

According to Mr. Abraham, cOcOn has played a significant role in many of the Kerala Police’s cybersecurity initiatives, such as the Cyberdome and Drone Forensics. It provides the ideal setting for the global idea-generation process. Additionally, it brings together volunteers who support the police in thwarting cybercrimes, according to him.
