Think & Built Bigger Faster Better

With the launch of an innovative virtual reality (VR) experience, the American Dental Association (ADA) is changing career exploration for dental professionals. This virtual reality job exploration experience, which will make its premiere at SmileCon 2023 in Orlando, Florida, promises to equip dental professionals with the skills they need to successfully navigate their career routes.

The Career Paths Discovery: A VR Experience immerses participants in three distinct practice environments: clinical dentistry, dental faculties, and military dentistry. Participants receive unique insights into the potential career paths within these areas using a Meta Quest VR headset. At the event, ADA career professionals will be on hand to assist attendees and offer useful information and viewpoints.

The vice president of dental professional career services for the ADA, Dr. Suzanne Ebert, will lead continuing education workshops at SmileCon in addition to the VR experience.

Participants leave the course with a thorough understanding of what to look for in a practice. A different workshop, “Beyond Salary: How to Negotiate the Best Contracts for Your Goals,” focuses on efficient contract evaluation and negotiating techniques.

The ADA Career Services will hold “Let’s Talk Careers: Ask Me Anything” sessions to help dental professionals in their career journeys.

Attendees can visit the ADA Career Services booth at SmileCon 2023 or look over the ADA’s website to learn more about the Career Services offers and sessions.

With 159,000 dentist members, the American Dental Association (ADA) is the largest dental organization in the country. Since its founding in 1859, the ADA has fought to promote dental care and oral health. The ADA continues to promote the practice of dentistry and offer helpful resources to dental professionals and the general public thanks to its cutting-edge research facilities and the prestigious Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA).
