Industry-leading 5G/AI/LTE/Smart wireless modules and solutions, revealed by Fibocom, showcase breakthroughs for the 5G-enabled city of the future. Affordable 5G NR Light Modules to Accelerate Commercialization of 5G at a Global Scale
In the first part of 2023, Fibocom released its RedCap module series, and during this event, it displayed the entire portfolio. Fibocom RedCap modules FG131 and FG132 series support 5G SA internationally and are 3GPP R17 compliant, with regional and global versions available. RedCap modules can significantly lower the price and power consumption of 5G terminals. It excellently satisfies the expectations of the high-speed and low-power IoT businesses while inheriting the exceptional performance of 5G.
In a 5G SA network, FG131 and FG132 may reach the highest downlink peak of 226Mbps and the highest uplink peak of 121Mbps. The FG131 series is compatible with Fibocom LTE Cat 6 modules in terms of form factor, while the FG132 series is compatible with Fibocom LTE Cat 4 modules. The large-scale commercialization of 5G IoT across a variety of industries, including FWA, the smart grid, and industrial automation, can be accelerated by all series.
For the worldwide 5G IoT market, Fibocom also displayed the global version of the edge-leading 5G Sub-6GHz and mmWave module FM190 in addition to RedCap modules. Based on the Snapdragon X75, which has issues with the 3GPP R17 standard, is the FM190 series. The FM190 series, which supports dual-connectivity at sub-6GHz and mmWave, can deliver remarkable cellular performance in areas including mobile broadband, FWA, enterprise 5G, and IIoT. It can also attain a maximum downlink speed of up to 10Gbps.
Both FG132-GL and FM190(W) can span worldwide mainstream frequency bands and obtain global mainstream approvals, which makes it simple to commercialize 5G technology on a large scale.
The FM160-NA was also on display at the event, with Fibocom emphasizing its recent accomplishment of getting approvals from all three main US carriers. It shows that the FM160-NA is capable of offering top-notch 5G connection services across networks and enhancing mobile broadband applications.
AI/Smart Modules from Fibocom are Advancing Computing
It’s important to note that Fibocom also displayed a number of AI/Smart modules at the event. Fibocom’s SC151 and SC126 modules are designed for applications including robots, industry PDAs & pads, proof-of-concept radios, smart homes, etc. and provide rich interfaces (MIPI/ USB/ UART/ SPI/ I2C). While the SC126 is a 4G LTE module and supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, Android 13 and Linux OS, the SC151 provides 5G NR Sub-6GHz, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and Android 13 OS, meeting a variety of demands.
The Fibocom SC138 module’s high-performance graphics engine and Hexagon Vector Extensions (HVX) image processing technology offer low-power, fluid 4K video playback and multi-channel camera input. It works best for industry handhelds, smart retail, and IVI (in-vehicle infotainment).
Innovating Wireless Modules and Solutions to Boost Global AIoT Applications
In-home/industrial connectivity, retail, asset tracking, and IIoT are just a few of the many applications for which Fibocom has announced its wide empowerment through the AIoT sector. The Fibocom LTE Cat 1 module MC116 is installed in the POS (point-of-sale) device for the small/medium-sized business (SMB), offering a low-cost and highly functioning Android-based solution. The tracker’s Fibocom Cat 1 bis module L610 enables it to be utilized for fleet management and tracking of large vehicles. The 4G router, which comes with Fibocom’s CBRS-only FM101-CG module, can facilitate the deployment of private LTE in a variety of circumstances. The Fibocom FG360 integrated 5G CPE and 5G Wi-Fi gateway can deliver dependable 5G connectivity for many users.
In addition, Fibocom demonstrated the most recent FWA solutions to quicken clients’ verification procedures. The FG370/FG160 modules from Fibocom are the foundation for the 5G CPE/Mobile HotSpot solutions. The 5G experience can be improved and elevated to a whole new level by all of these solutions.
According to Ron Friedman, vice president of the Americas Sales Department at Fibocom, “Fibocom is pleased to once again be a prominent presence at Mobile World Congress Las Vegas.” “We’re here to present the newest wireless modules and technologies that will advance the commercialization of 5G globally.
