According to a fresh, admittedly shaky source, Apple’s Vision Pro might go on sale as soon as the end of January.

If you’ve been waiting patiently for Apple to release its impending Vision Pro AR/VR headset, you might not have to wait as long as we anticipated. This is according to a shaky claim by a Chinese investment news agency. According to Wall Street Insights, Apple will release the Vision Pro headset for retail on January 27.

What’s particularly intriguing about that date is that it’s a Saturday, a day on which Apple has traditionally not released new products for sale. However, as MacRumors points out, the date could refer to the Chinese Saturday, making the US release date the 26th – a much more likely Friday.

However, no official date for the Vision Pro headset’s release has been announced. Apple introduced the long-rumored tablet during the company’s annual WWDC event in June, but no clear release date was given. All Apple has said is what is now displayed on its website: Vision Pro will be available in early 2024.

However, current speculations say that Apple plans to release the Vision Pro in February, with store personnel receiving training on how to sell and configure the headset. The second part of the process is regarded to be very crucial because a poorly designed headset would most likely result in a bad user experience. Given that the Vision Pro headset will cost $3,499, Apple must ensure that the first-time users interact with the Vision Pro is a success.

If Apple does aim to ship the Vision Pro headset on January 26, we only have a few weeks before one of the year’s most eagerly anticipated hardware products hits the shelves, and all eyes will be on how early adopters react. Those who have used the headset so far have waxed poetic about its capabilities. But that dynamic can and frequently does shift when you’ve just spent $,3499 on something and buyer’s remorse sets in.
