Dutch Qualinx Raises €20 Million to Boost Sovereign Chip Manufacturing in Europe

Qualinx sovereign chip manufacturing efforts received a major boost as the Dutch semiconductor startup raised €20 million to strengthen sovereign chip manufacturing in Europe and reduce reliance on foreign semiconductor supply chains.

The funding will support the production of advanced navigation and connectivity chips, with manufacturing scheduled to begin earlier than planned at GlobalFoundries’ Dresden facility. By leveraging an established European foundry, Qualinx aims to accelerate sovereign chip manufacturing in Europe while retaining full control over design and intellectual property.

The company’s strategy aligns closely with the EU Chips Act, which prioritizes sovereign chip manufacturing in Europe as a foundation for technological independence, supply-chain resilience, and economic security across critical sectors.

With demand for secure and locally produced semiconductors rising, Qualinx is positioning itself as a key contributor to sovereign chip manufacturing in Europe, supporting industries such as defence, transportation, telecommunications, and critical infrastructure.
