KR Launches eXtended Reality Ship Familiarization SolutionKR-Real360, a 360-degree XR (eXtended Reality)-based ship education
and training platform, has been introduced by Korean Register (KR). Using the most recent XR technology, KR-Real360 was created to give users the instructional knowledge required for ship operation and maintenance. Within the ship virtual reality environment, which is created using 360-degree panoramic photos, users may easily find educational resources, such as operation manuals, survey data, and checklists. These resources are available in a variety of formats, including photographs, text, PDFs, and videos. Additional useful features like ship touring, XR-drawing matching, personalized route setup, and text-to-voice technology TTS (Text To Speech) are integrated and can be readily adjusted to suit individual user preferences. KR-Real 360 is anticipated to be a helpful instrument that greatly enhances the conventional ship education and training system while enabling quick response to changes.
KR Executive Vice President for Research and Development, KIM Daeheon, made the following statement: We attempted to make KR-
Real360 more real and vivid by showing the realistic appearance of ships. In keeping with the trends of digitalization and decarbonization, KR willendeavor to offer the greatest technical assistance to help the maritime sector implement the newest technology as soon as possible.
