The Bosch BMM350 high-performance magnetometer is now available from Mouser. This High-Performance Magnetometer is a three-axis, 16-bit, ultra-small, high-performance, low-current magnetometer that is perfect for a variety of consumer applications, including high-end gaming, robotics, virtual, augmented, and mixed reality applications, head orientation, indoor navigation, and magnetic compass.
Based on Bosch’s patented TMR technology, the high-performance magnetometer has field shock recovery characteristics that provide protection from outside magnetic fields while assuring high accuracy. By improving tracking of head motions and 3D audio for AR/VR, ultra-precise digital pathfinding reduces pixel latency and motion sickness for VR users. The device now has instant data updates and status polling of positioning and speed detection for interior navigation and AR/VR applications thanks to new data-ready interrupt signals and data-ready status register read-outs.
With a typical magnetic field range of 2000T (x, y, and z-axis) and a low current consumption of 200A @ 100Hz in low power setting, the device allows measurements of the magnetic field in three perpendicular axes. With a low noise ratio of 190n Trms for the x and y axes and 450n Trms in the z axis, the device is perfect for a variety of target orientation applications.
The sensor is ideal for use in portable and battery-powered applications due to its small size and low power consumption.
