Think & Built Bigger Faster Better

The impending Meta Quest 3, the replacement for the Oculus Quest 2, which was released back in 2020, is one of Meta’s most significant products to penetrate the virtual and augmented reality markets.

The Quest 3 is supposed to give a more well-balanced mixed reality experience than the Quest 2, which had a stronger emphasis on the virtual reality side of things. Color passthrough is one of the Quest 3’s standout characteristics.

A video that has recently been making the rounds on Reddit and X (previously Twitter) further supports the claim that Meta has also succeeded in making the Quest 3 40% thinner than its predecessor.

When the Quest 3 is opened, its two Touch controllers are also revealed. A small piece of cardboard demonstrating the new lens depth adjustment feature is also visible. This feature is intended to enable users who wear glasses find a more comfortable headset wearing position.

This leaked unboxing of the new mixed reality headset from the company confirms its significantly slimmer design, just as Meta had stated and demonstrated in its unveiling of the Quest 3. The new pancake optics, which took the place of the Fresnel lenses used in the previous generation, are likely to a considerable measure responsible for this improvement.

On September 27, Meta is anticipated to reveal the Quest 3.
